GARB - Autumn 2011 Knitwear Collection
The GARB Collection was inspired by the evolution of clerical garb throughout history, asceticism, and the metaphorical relationship that exists between cloth and the body. Blending many different faith traditions and their respective body coverings, this collections attempts to reveal the worldly and oftentimes utilitarian origins of many devotional uniforms, and how these garments evolved to assume a more spiritual and metaphorical significance over time. The GARB Collection was completely machine-knit, using wool, cotton, and silk/stainless steel blend yarns that were naturally hand-dyed using logwood extract, onion skins and alum.
